A Word for Our Arbor Family
Before life with Jesus, the water would have killed me. I would have been on the outside of the ark drowning… clawing my nails into the side of the boat. The life I was living was the norm for culture, but I wasn’t following Jesus. (Genesis 7)
Then, he met me at the well. He knew all of my mess, but wanted me anyway. And, oh man, what Jesus had was so much more refreshing than what the world was offering. (John 4)
Overtime, I’ve walked on the water that I deserve to drown in. I even lost my sight on him a few times and he pulled me back up (Matthew 14). I’ve been raised from death to life in the sweet surrender of who is Lord of my life in the water (Romans 6). I felt a calm only Jesus could bring in storms that before would have taken me out (Mark 4).
Jesus is the Great Redeemer that came to rescue us from what we deserve to give us his strength and peace through troubles and into eternal life.
There is an old phrase that asks, “Is the cup half empty or half full?” I’d say, “If my life is that cup, who am I allowing to pour into it?”
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill [your cup] completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NLT
