A Word for Our Arbor Family

“A voice cries: In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”  - Isaiah 40:3

I’m sitting here reminiscing on a very active and exciting past few days. Some of us in Arbor Youth had an opportunity to attend the Burning Ones Conference in Fort Worth, TX, this past weekend.  The key message for this year was for young people to be the voice crying in the wilderness, “Prepare the way for the Lord!” It was powerful! We all left a little shaken. We saw young people with addictions, suicidal thoughts, and demonic oppression being set free! There was incredible worship and challenging messages. We encountered Holy Spirit in a whole new way! We were commissioned never to stop growing in our relationship with God and to be bold in sharing the Good News with those around us.

Most of us are about to start the “normal” routine of school, sports, and other activities that go along with a fall semester. With this, it can be easy to get into a “normal” routine with our relationship with the Lord. But what if we went into this next season with a mission? A mission that goes beyond our “normal” routine? Is there one person you know who needs Jesus?

The wilderness can be anywhere. It can be at our schools, workplaces, and even the grocery store. Everyone needs an encounter with Jesus! A word of encouragement or an act of kindness is a simple thing we can do that He can use to bring about His Kingdom in a person's life.

Can we be that voice in the wilderness?
