A Word for Our Arbor Family
Sometimes we get so focused on where God is taking us that we forget to enjoy where He has us right now.
Moses spent 40 years in Midian before God called him to return to Egypt and lead Israel (Exodus 2–3). David was anointed king, but he waited years before actually becoming king over all Israel (1 Samuel 16; 2 Samuel 5:4). Joseph had a dream about his future, but there were years of slavery, hardship, and prison before he became second in command over Egypt (Genesis 37; 41:41).
But those "waiting" years were not wasted ones.
They were working. They were learning. They were growing. They were serving. They were living.
Sometimes we think we are “waiting on God,” when God is actually inviting us to be faithful right where we are. The job you have now, the family you are raising, the season you are in, the small things you do every day—none of them are insignificant when you do them with God.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us that God makes everything beautiful in its time.
So don’t rush the process. Don’t despise the season you are in because it doesn’t look like the promise yet. Enjoy today. Be faithful today. Trust God today.
Because when God is ready to move you into the next season, you won’t have missed anything. You will see that the waiting was part of the preparation.
