A Word for Our Arbor Family

Beginning with President John Adams in 1798, many of our nation's leaders have not only called on the name of the Lord personally, but publicly expressed the need for a National Day of Fasting and Prayer. Going back to historical documents and reading the words of US Presidents throughout our history on that day is remarkable. What a blessing to live in such a great country!

As amazing as it is to go back and read the words of these historic figures, it's important to remember two things:

• Romans 13:1 says, "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." Each and every person in authority is in their position because God has approved it. He or she is an image bearer of our God. Jesus bled and died for their opportunity to dwell with Him in heaven forever. They need our prayers!
• In Mark 11:23-24, Jesus says, "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." The authority we speak with is greater than the greatest human leader who has ever lived (except Christ Himself). When we pray in line with His will, there is nothing He cannot do!
  
  

Thank you to everyone who came out and exercised that blessing and authority last Thursday at our Waller National Day of Prayer event. We truly got to experience Psalm 133, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! ... For there the Lord has commanded the blessing: life forevermore." Let's continue to pray that each of us will walk in His unity and authority daily! We are The Church!
