A Word for Our Arbor Family

It is amazing how a foundation shapes everything that one does in life. From pastors, scientists, inventors, athletes, entrepreneurs, scammers, thieves, idolaters, etc., there is a noticeable pattern. A "brick-by-brick" process. Some foundations lead to failure while others lead to success.

Think of a story of fame or achievement that does not have a firm foundation at its core, and you will find a story of failed greatness.

The higher one climbs on a ladder with a weak foundation, the higher their chances of reaching the bottom.

As children of God, building a firm foundation and maintaining it must be a daily goal. Jesus tells his disciples: “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.” John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭CSB‬‬

In some of Jesus’ last prayers for his disciples, he says to the Father: “I am not praying that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.” John‬ ‭17‬:‭15‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“I have given them your word. The world hates them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” John‬ ‭17‬:‭14‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock.” Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭CSB‬‬

The Word of God is our firm foundation when we hear it AND act on it! Rivers will rise, and winds will blow, but we will have rest in the Lord!

As we are in the process of a building campaign, let's not only build a physical temple, but also daily renew our spiritual one that rests in our hearts with Jesus Christ as the firm foundation; He who lived a sinless life and laid Himself down for us. Have a blessed week, Arbor family!
