A Word for Our Arbor Family
With Valentine’s Day just behind us—a day when many reflect on love, I found myself considering what love truly means in the context of faith. Not in the physical sense, but what love truly is in Christ. God showed His love for us by sending His only Son to die for us. So how can we, in turn, show our love for God? Perhaps we can demonstrate our love through acts of kindness, forgiveness, or by serving others as Jesus taught. Taking time to care for those around us, offering grace when it’s difficult, and living out compassion are all ways we can make God’s love visible in our daily lives.
1 Corinthians 13:3-6 says, “If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth."
"If I give away all I have..." stood out to me today, especially as we face the challenge of building a new facility. Are we demonstrating our faith and love for God through giving, or are we clinging to our blessings for security?
Love is not measured solely by actions but also by motives. Similarly, God judged Cain's and Abel's offerings and will judge ours. Pastor Adam suggested that we create lasting value by investing in both the new building and those who will be discipled there. Therefore, consider how you might express your love for Christ by joining us in building His Church through finances and taking part in discipleship.
