A Word for Our Arbor Family

Acts 1:1-2 NLT “In my first book, I told you, Theophilus, about everything Jesus began to do and teach until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit.

I clearly recall the moment when I realized that the book of Acts is less about the “acts” of the apostles and more about the ongoing work of the ascended Jesus, moving through His Body, the Church. Luke says that his first book (the Gospel of Luke) was about what Jesus BEGAN to do and teach. His second book (Acts) is about what He CONTINUED to do through His Holy Spirit working through people who were submitted to His leading.

This is important because it’s still how Jesus works today. We are the vessels He uses to do His work on this earth. He does this by partnering with us as we follow the Spirit’s leading, decision by decision, day by day. Each of us, as a body part of His Body, do the work of His ministry for a broken world.

That means that you could be the answer to someone’s faith-filled prayer. For Example, when someone prays that their relative will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, God answers that prayer by speaking truth through one of the members of His Body... just like you!

We need to pray for boldness to BE His Body and live each day with intentionality, since we are His feet, His hands, and His mouthpieces on this earth."

Remember, you speak for the King!
