A Word for Our Arbor Family
It’s the most wonderful time of year! But is it really?
For so many, the holidays are the worst for many reasons. This will be the first Christmas without my mom. And as each day passes and Christmas gets closer, I feel the sadness heavier and heavier. It’s so easy to get lost in despair if we forget "the why."
In Matthew 14, the disciples find themselves in the middle of the ocean, looking at a shadowy figure. Jesus told them not to be afraid, but they were still unsure. Peter replies, "If it is You, Lord, bid me to come out on the water" and Peter walked on water. For a moment, Peter understood the assignment. He knew "the why."
Keep your eyes on Jesus, despite the storm around.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, no matter what it looks like.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, through all the ups and downs of the holidays.
The thing about keeping your eyes on Jesus is that it's a daily thing. Yesterday‘s bread is not good for today. So remember this holiday season that Jesus is the reason why we celebrate. And the reason we can still be joyful in the year to come.
