A Word for Our Arbor Family
My children have the remarkable ability to sleep through almost anything: alarms, storms, power outages, and more. Every morning, as I enter their room to wake them, they are sleeping soundly through their blaring alarms. But I simply call their names and tell them it’s time to get up, and their eyes instantly pop open.
With that, I am reminded of John 10:27, where Jesus states, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me.”
If you flip open your Bible to just about any page, you’ll discover stories of individuals whose faith was tested as they learned to set aside their own timing and the pressures of their circumstances, leaning instead into God’s perfect timing. Numerous accounts illustrate how incredible God’s plans are for us (Jeremiah 29:11) when we place our trust in Him, as well as the unfortunate outcomes that occur when we fail to do so.
Our God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. His plans for us are unfailingly perfect, even when our earthly situations seem to suggest otherwise. In every moment and opportunity that the world presents, embrace your identity as a child of God. Find peace in Him amidst the clamor of worldly distractions, and do not hesitate to rise, act, and respond when He calls you by name!
