A Word for Our Arbor Family

Last week, we brought the mission field home to Arbor as we were transported to Alaska, being in this present time, while also traveling back over 2000 years! The atmosphere continually shifted between excited, explorative, sweet and somber. As the rotations happened during VBS each day, area teams found different ways to share the Gospel with children, changing the hearts and lives of both the participants and the volunteers. I had the joy of watching gifts within each volunteer shine and the beauty of Godly unity displayed before my very eyes! I saw volunteers caring for each other regarding family and personal matters, all while ministering to sweet (and sometimes silly) young faces. In what some might see as busy chaos, I saw the reflection of Jesus.

A few days later, as I sit here typing this message to you, I see the representation of hearts on a paper cross: 17 new salvations, 14 recommitments, 47 kids that are still strong in the faith, and 18 souls waiting to answer the door on which Christ is knocking. These are hearts to be discipled and prayed over. There is still work on the mission field, wherever you are.

All of this is such a sweet reminder that, while we may not be decorated for an Alaskan Adventure anymore, God is always up to something and chasing after someone, and He is sending YOU to be present wherever He has you. And sometimes, you just have to be brave enough to take on the adventure He's called you to as you Trust Jesus in a Wild World!
